Acerca de Casper
I am a qualified educator with a Bachelor of Education specializing in Mathematics and Microcomputers, a Higher Education Diploma, and 44 years of teaching and school leadership experience.
During my career, I have taught learners in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Iraq. My roles have included Head of Mathematics, Academic Head, IGCSE Coordinator, and Examinations Officer. I have taught mathematics across primary and secondary levels, including Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and IB Mathematics at Standard and Higher Level.
Working with students from different cultures, educational systems, and language backgrounds has taught me that difficulty in mathematics is rarely a lack of ability. Often, a learner simply needs a patient explanation, a different approach, and enough guided practice to rebuild confidence.
I continue teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping students reach the moment when a difficult idea finally makes sense. My aim is not only to improve results but also to help every learner become a more confident and independent problem-solver.

Mathematics becomes easier when each step is understood rather than memorized. I explain concepts clearly, patiently, and at a pace suited to the individual student, using worked examples and guided practice before asking the student to solve problems independently.
Each lesson begins by identifying the learner’s immediate difficulties and learning goals. We then review the necessary foundations, develop the new concept step by step, practice carefully selected questions, and finish by checking understanding. Examination students also learn how to interpret questions, choose an effective method, show their reasoning clearly, and avoid common mistakes.
I teach mathematics from the primary through secondary level, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and mathematical logic. I also support Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE students, as well as IB Mathematics students at Standard and Higher Level.
My lessons are suitable for learners who need help catching up, building confidence, improving their grades, or preparing thoroughly for examinations. Every lesson is personalised—because students do not all learn mathematics in the same way.
